A huge area of focus at Hollywood park this meet are the jockeys including Mike Smith, Victor Espinoza, and Alex Solis. Another attraction at Hollywood Park on November 21st is Rafael Berjerano, fifth in the nation with his purse earnings totaling over $14 Million.

In other Racing news Golden Gates Fields unveiled their synthetic surface with expectations of improved safety for horses and a change in the flagging industry.

"You're never going to avoid injuries, but if it reduces them by 10, 20, 40 percent or more, it's a godsend," trainer Chuck Jenda mentioned. "We don't expect miracles, but it should be a great leap forward."

Golden Gate Fields spent approximately $10 million to replace its old dirt track. So far, the horses seem to respond well to the new track.

"I think it's great, but maybe I'll change my mind about it once we try racing on it," trainer Steve Specht commented. "Horses seem to come off the track a little livelier, and there is hardly any kickback."
