There were no surprises at The Arkansas Derby today as Lawyer Ron easily took the first place position away from both Steppenwolfer(2) and Private Vow(3). Lawyer Ron has now proven himself as a contender for the Kentucky Derby title against such favorites as Brother Derek and Bluegrass Cat.
The Toyota Bluegrass Stakes and The Northern Spur Breeder's Cup also ran on April 15th and was home to some very surprising results. Sinister Minister beat the odds by defeating both the favorites in the Toyota Bluegrass Stakes; Bluegrass Cat and First Samurai. This race was for the long shot's as Storm Treasure came in on the place position and Strong Contender finished in the show position.
