This Sunday, Jan.6 at Santa Anita, the $150,000 San Gorgonio Handicap (gr. II) will be run.

With Noshoba’s Key not running due to expected rain, Wait a While (daughter of Maria’s Mon) has taken the reigns as favorite for the race.

Waiting for more desirable track conditions and weather, Noshoba’s Key’s trainer said, “We’ll wait for the Sunshine Millions (on Jan. 26).”

With two wins in six starts in 2007, Wait a While had a rough start compared to her year in 2006 where she won the Nation's Outstanding 3-year-old Filly Award at the Eclipse Awards. She also won both the American Oaks (gr. I) and the Yellow Ribbon (gr. I) stakes races, winning more than $1.2 million. But with her great history, Wait a While is expected to perform at peak performance this weekend.
