Trainer Bob Baffert will get a chance to show the world just how good Lookin At Lucky looks as his 3-year-old gets set to make his 2010 debut Saturday, March 13 in the Grade 2, $300,000 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park. With jockey Garrett Gomez in the saddle, this race will also be a test to see how Lookin At Lucky performs on dirt and with blinkers -- two more firsts for this top Kentucky Derby contender.

Another 3-year-old scheduled to make his 2010 debut is 2009 Breeders' Futurity Stakes winner Noble's Promise.

"It came down between the Rebel and the Tampa Bay Derby, and I just thought he might not like that surface up at Tampa," said trainer Kenneth McPeek. "Some horses like it and some don't, and I just had a hunch he might not handle it. But the Rebel is a nice, solid race to get him back in the game."

Interestingly enough, Noble's Promise   finished second to Lookin At Lucky at the 2009 $750,000 Cashcall Futurity at Hollywood Park Racetrack.

Winner of five of six races in his 2009 campaign, Lookin At Lucky is currently No. 1 on the Associated Press 'Run to the Roses Top 10' list of Kentucky Derby contenders. The No. 8 Kentucky Derby contender on that same list, Dublin, will also be competing at Oaklawn on Saturday.

There are other contenders to watch in the Rebel Stakes. Read more in this week's article, "Betting on the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park."
