The $750,000 Whitney Handicap at Saratoga will once again be the stage for the ageless Commentator, who will try to win the race for a record tying third time. He will also try to tie the great Kelso as the oldest horse ever to win the Whitney. He will face six others, including Macho Again and Dry Martini who both come into the race off graded stakes wins.

Thickening the field will be international multiple group winner Asiatic Boy and four-year-old millionaire Smooth Air. The Whitney is a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Race with the winner getting an automatic berth into the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic Nov. 7 at Santa Anita Park.

West Point Thoroughbreds’ Macho Again has two big wins in the first half of 2008, taking the New Orleans Handicap in the slop at Fair Grounds in March and then the Stephen Foster Handicap at Churchill Downs on June 13.
