Everyone at the Breeders' Cup is looking for Curlin to grab the title as the sport's most recognizable horse, but one thoroughbred could steal his thunder this weekend - four-year-old filly Zenyatta.
On Friday, Zenyatta will look to keep her eight-game win streak alive when she races for two million in the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic. Zenyatta's trainer thinks she's ready to fly on the Pro-Ride surface.
"I've had a lot of nice horses and some very nice fillies, and usually a horse has a bit of an Achilles' heel or something that bothers them or causes them not to run as well," said John Shirreffs, who is the filly's trainer. "Zenyatta doesn't."
"She came in with the reputation of being able to outgallop anything at the farm, so we always had a real good feeling about her."
Zenyatta competes in the Ladies Classic tonight at 6:15 p.m. ET. Bet on Zenyatta at the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic in the Bodog Racebook!
