Federal Judge Rules That Poker Is A Game Of Skill

Jack B. Weinstein may well be the hero that poker deserves. This week, the Judge presiding over Federal District Court in Brooklyn ruled that poker is a game more of skill than a game of a chance, so the people that are running home games and the like should not be prosecuted under illegal gambling laws. Tennessee Poker Players Plea Bargain Promises Resolution For Some

Last week, 41 poker players were gathered in front of Chattanooga District Attorney Neal Pinkston as the result of a police raid conducted on June 7. Gambling is illegal on the island nation of Cyprus. The Cyprus Poker association is a group of players that gathers together regularly to play the game and practice for tournaments abroad.
