The European Poker Tour has rolled into Budapest for its latest event and has once again drawn an impressive number of players as well as a good number of talented poker pros. One of those pros exited Day 1A of the event with the chip lead, something that online poker phenom Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad is getting quite used to.
The 20-year-old Norwegian cemented herself firmly in the poker consciousness by taking down the 2007 WSOP Europe Main Event and added a second-place finish at EPT Dublin just about a month after that. Although she has been quiet so far this year, rumor is she's been racking up online and a deep run at this event would push her back in the live tournament spotlight.
Littered behind her are several of her online peers and tournament vets looking to catch up with her over the next few days of poker, including Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, Paul Testud, rising star Danny "THE_D_RY" Ryan and Luca Pagano. Unfortunately, the rest of the field looks like made up names.
The 90 players that were left standing out of the 262 that started Day 1A will join whoever manages to survive Day 1B, which got underway just a couple of hours ago. Looks like that field numbers at about 270, giving a rough total of 530 for the event. Payouts will be announced once everything's all official like, so stay tuned for more details on EPT Bucharest.
