The $10,000 buy-in championship event of the Aussie Millions kicks off on Monday and two Bodog online poker players are heading down under to compete in this tournament as part of Bodog's "Player's Choice" package. In this post, we'll introduce you to Bart Wolfe, one of those two qualifiers.
Further cementing the surprising, yet not entirely unexpected, link between golf and poker, Bodog Aussie Millions qualifier Bart Wolfe is a golf professional from Charleston, SC, who is now possibly on his way to becoming a poker pro as well.
The 39-year-old has been playing poker for over 25 years and has spent the last few months honing those skills online in the Bodog Poker room. He has now parlayed them into a $12,000 prize package that will be taking him down to Melbourne, Australia, for the chance to play for life-changing millions.
Wolfe won the package during the Christmas holiday with a houseful of people and described the scene for us:
Everyone was running in and out while the tournament was going on and checking up on me. Everyone was cheering me on as I was making my way through the field. Panic set in first because I didn’t have a passport and less than three weeks to get a passport and make all necessary arrangements.
Obviously, he got all of his passport issues figured out and is now very excited to be going down to Australia to play poker. Although he doesn't have the same tournament experience as most of the players - this will be his first major live poker tournament - he told us that he feels confident that he will do well and can play at the same level as anyone down there.
Plus, if he does well in this event, he plans on playing poker full-time from then on, and that's not a bad life.
If you want to join qualifiers like Wolfe at major poker tournaments all over the world then head over to Bodog and qualify online for a WPT, EPT, or WSOP event and a chance to win millions.
