Bodog is hosting a poker tournament series that will award a WSOP seat to a poker blogger. (Bodog Beat Image)
A $12,000 prize package to play in the 2008 WSOP Main Event is more than you can usually expect to receive for whining about that horrible bad beat you took in your $.25/$.50 cash game online last night, but that's exactly what Bodog Poker is offering. One poker blogger will receive the experience of a lifetime of playing the WSOP as part of Team Bodog.
The Bodog Poker Blogger Tournament Series is composed of a series of 18 qualifying tournaments that run weekly. The first one was held this past Tuesday night and the last one will be on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008. The top 30% of finishers in each qualifying tournament will earn points based on their finish. These points will be used to rank players over 4 months of qualifying. At the end of the qualifying series, the top 18 players on the Tournament Leader Board will play in the Final Tournament on Tuesday, June 10th, 2008 with the first place finisher winning a $12,000 WSOP prize package.
The first running of the tournament saw "kurokitty" come out on top of a field that contained quite a few recognizable bloggers finishing in the money like "MiamiDon," "kajagugu" and "Drizztdj." There were also a few poker pros who have blogs in the field, including Eric "Rizen" Lynch. Is that even fair?
If you don't have a blog and still want to play as part of Team Bodog at the 2008 WSOP, then make sure to check out Bodog Poker's 2008 WSOP online poker qualifiers.
