Last night was the night for poker pros to win their first WSOP bracelets. Just an hour or so before Erick Lindgren captured his, poker pro David Singer also won his first in Event No. 3 - $1,500 Pot Limit Holdem.
The former shyster has been playing poker professionally since 2001, during which time he has cashed 18 times at the WSOP and is the only player to have reached the final table of the $50,000 HORSE event both years it's been played. He also won the inaugural Caesars Palace Classic in 2007, worth $1 million, and has nearly $4 million in career tournament earnings. Prior to this win he had never finished higher than fourth at a WSOP event.
With a baby on the way that could be born at any second, Singer managed to maintain his focus throughout the event, even knowing that he swore to leave the tournament no matter what stage it was at to be by the side of his fiance. He no longer has to worry about that and will be able to relax and enjoy his first WSOP bracelet and his first child.
