After three flights of Day 1 at the APPT Sydney, the field will finally be consolidated tomorrow for Day 2 with 116 players remaining out of an original overall total of 561. Even with world class poker tournaments going on all over the globe, the APPT, only in its first season, still managed to grab a couple of big name poker pros.

A pair of WSOP Main Event champions, Scotty Nguyen and Joe Hachem, made an appearance at the tournament and both made it through to Day 2. Hachem is just a little bit of a hometown hero/favorite ("Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi!, Oi!") and goes into play later on today with a slightly below average stack. On the other hand, Nguyen is up near the top of the leaderboard sitting in about fifth place just behind Terrence "You're Not Johnny" Chan.

The APPT already guaranteed that first-place would receive $1 million AUD, but the second through 56th-place payouts have now been announced and go from $621,540 AUD down to $8,000 AUD.

According to the PokerNews.com countdown clock thingy, Day 2 begins in 4 hours and 1 minute. So, head over there for live updates because it's Friday night and we're going to go home watch a movie and get a good night's sleep going out like rock stars and will be out until the sun comes up because that's how we roll.
