Day 1B of the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star drew out 256 players, among which were 27 "Shooting Stars," or a potential $135,000 in bounty money to be picked up. The count from Day 1B plus the 135 from last year's event puts the total number of entrants at 391, creating a total prize pool of about $3.7 million and a first-place prize of $1,025,500.

The "Shooting Stars" who made it out of Day 1B with their $5,000 bounties still intact included Daniel Negreanu, Brandon Cantu, "Miami" John Cernuto, , Jennifer Harman, Howard Lederer, T.J. Cloutier, Kathy Liebert, Allen Cunningham, Eli Elezra and Men Nguyen.

Those who lost their tournament lives plus their bounties were Michael Binger, David Chiu, Antonio Esfandiari, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Ted Forrest, Chau Giang, Barry Greenstein, Phil Laak, Nam Le, Jeff Madsen, Nenad Medic, Michael Mizrachi, Scotty Nguyen, John Phan, Jennifer Tilly, J.C. Tran and Bodog poker pro David Williams.

Making his way out of a close three-way race for the chip lead to end the day was Isaac Baron, just barely edging ahead of online poker pro Vivek "PsyDuck" Rajkumar. Baron receives $10,000 for ending the day with the biggest stack and is now basically free-rolling the tournament.

A couple of blind levels have wrapped up during Day 2 and the field has already slimmed down to 101, with several bounties collected. Gary Tighe is the new chip leader while Baron has slipped down to 6th and Rajkumar remains in second.
