Day 5 Underway at 2008 WSOP Main Event

Day 5 of the 2008 WSOP Main Event is underway and due to the way the night ended last night, players only had to get in about 40 minutes of play before the blind level ended and they went on a 15 minute break, from which they are now returning.

Current top three chip counts belong to Nikolay Losev, Cristian Dragomir and sick online poker player David "Raptor" Benefield, who looks altogether too comfortable out there with this much pressure. Other big names sprinkled out among the 177 players remaining include Shawn Sheikhan, Tiffany Michelle, who just doubled-up through Alex Outhred, Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, Victor Ramdin, Mark Vos, Phil Hellmuth, Hoyt Corkins and Kara Scott.

Play is expected to run for five two-hour blind levels today, but based on how quickly the bust-outs have been coming, and the fact that we just heard three "all-in and a call" exclamations from the floor, we could be in for a short day, much like yesterday.

We'll keep you posted on all the developments, so keep coming back for all of your WSOP live updates right there on the Bodog Beat.
