Doyle Brunson Riding High on the WSOP HORSE

Doyle Brunson gets his ear talked off by Annie Duke at the WSOP HORSE Championship. (Bodog Beat Image)."]
When we said said we wouldn't use any cheesy HORSE puns this year, we lied.
Anyway, Doyle Brunson is teaching those young wippersnappers a lesson in what it's like to play poker against the best at the WSOP. He currently has the second most chips in the WSOP $50,000 HORSE Championship here late in Day 2.
In first place is a fellow by the name of Abraham Mosseri. We haven't heard of him either.
Right behind Texas Dolly is Lyle Berman, the man who first proposed the idea of showing hole cards in a televised poker game and who of course went on to found the WPT with Steve Lipscomb, Mike Sexton and Linda Johnson. Berman is currently third in chips with 290,000.
Poker hottie and contender for the most photographed person at the WSOP, Isabelle Mercier has been one of the few players that has managed to stay in the top ten pretty much all day today. Mercier is currently fifth in chips with 280,000.
Eric Lindgren, who has been playing great in previous WSOP prelim events, a few spots behind Mercier with 265,000 in chips.
Tom Dwan, who was chip leader during our last HORSE update, has taken a short fall to 11th place with 241,000.
The field of 148 has been whittled down to 109 with plenty of the top poker pros hitting the rails including: Chris Ferguson, Hoyt Corkins, Andy Black, Tony G, David Singer, Shawn Sheikhan and Annie Duke.
Michael Mizrachi and former chip leader Gus Hansen both have one foot in the grave and are hanging on by a thread with 18,000 each.
Team Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo is in the middle of the pack with 162,000. Bonomo is looking for revenge after being eliminated just before the bubble in last years HORSE Championship.
There's still time to get yourself to the WSOP Main Event. Bodog's Last Chance WSOP online satellite is running this Saturday at 3:15 p.m. ET.
