Final Table Set For European Poker Tour - Baden

Online poker pro Hevad "RainKhan" Khan busted out during Day 3 of EPT - Baden to pave the way for the final table.

When Day 3 wrapped up yesterday at EPT - Baden, the final table was set. Of the 282 players that came out for this event, only eight remain to fight it out for the title.

Chip leader heading into the day's play is Vladimir Poleshchuk, who is playing in his first major poker tournament, much like yesterday's chip leader and final table player Anton Allemann. Right behind Poleshchuk is English poker pro Julian Thew, who has been running deep in some of the biggest tournaments in Europe since 2001, including a couple of EPT final tables.

Final tablists Denes Kalo and Manfred Hammer have only played poker in their home countries of Austria and Germany, respectively, but have both cashed in major tournaments held there. There are several 2007 WSOP cashes among the players. Thierry Van Den Berg finished seventh in the $5k Six-Handed event, Thomas Fuller finished fourth in the $1,500 No Limit Shootout event and Ted Lawson finished sixth in the $5k World Championship Seven Card Stud event.

Here are the full final table chip counts:

Vladimir Poleshchuk – 624,000

Julian Thew – 610,000

Denes Kalo – 468,000

Manfred Hammer - 369,000

Anton Allemann – 254,000

Thierry Van Den Berg – 227,000

Thomas Fuller – 190,000

Ted Lawson – 81,000

Play is already underway at Casino Baden where they will play down to the champion and the presentation of the €670,800 ($950,000) first-place prize today, or most likely early tomorrow morning local time.

Upcoming stops for the EPT include Dublin, Prague, Copenhagen and Warsaw, all of which are available to winners of a Bodog "Player's Choice" package. Qualifiers start for as little as $1 for you to get a seat at any major land-based poker tournament with a buy-in of $10,000 or less, plus a bunch of extras.
