The chances for players to win a $5,000 bounty just for knocking a name poker pro, or "Shooting Star," out of the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars event are dwindling rapidly, along with the field.

After Day 2 of the tournament there are now 36 players remaining in total with Mike Baker (952,500) leading the way, followed closely by poker pros John "Razor" Phan (4th - 495,000) and Clonie Gowen (6th - 326,500). Baker won a $10,000 bonus for finishing the day in the lead.

Among those who will come back for Day 3 in just a bit are the five "Stars" that have managed to survive having giant targets on their heads: JC Tran (15th - 183,500), Jennifer Harman (16th - 164,500), Joe Hachem (25th - 100,000), Layne Flack (29th - 89,000) and defending champ Ted Forrest (32nd - 64,50).

The unique format of this event will continue into today as the players will sit at six-handed tables and play two hour levels until they have decided the six-person WPT televised final table. Keep it here for more updates on WPT events.
