Gunmen Rob EPT Berlin Event of Stacks of Cash

The Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin, Germany made the headlines on Saturday as four gunmen busted onto the scene of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Berlin main event in an attempt to make off with the tournament prize pool.
The armed robbery took place in broad daylight, with the suspects making off with around €100,000 and €300,000. According to German police, the four men remain at large and it is believed they were after the tournament's €3.68 million prize pool.
In a statement made by the EPT, it appears nobody was seriously injured with most events restarting within a few hours and just one $1,000 side event cancelled. Police are currently investigating the incident and have asked the media to hand in any video footage or photographs that could help with the case.
A total of 945 players from 48 countries entered the €5,300 main event, including German tennis legend Boris Becker. In the end, Kevin MacPhee from Finland won the €1 million first prize.
