Hometown Heroes Head The Herd At EPT Copenhagen

They say there's nothing like a home-field advantage and this would appear to be especially true at the EPT Copenhagen event heading into Day 2 of competition.

Of the starting top-20 players, 12 of them are Danes and another four are from Sweden. This trend continues all the way down the list of remaining players. So, if you were to extrapolate that out it would equal like some really high percentage, or something.

Notable players out in the field include Alexander Kravchenko, Bill Chen, Luca Pagano, online poker pro Michael "Timex" McDonald and Team Bodog's Joe "Dyzalot" Morneau, who is sitting with a chip stack just above average.

Day 2 has already commenced and seen some eliminations get doled out to Nicolas Levi, Barny Boatman, Noah Boeken and Thor Hansen. The current chip leader is Dane (shock! horror!) Lars Juhl Madsen followed by fellow Scandi Johan Lund.

Play will continue until the money bubble bursts or eight full blind levels have been played out, whichever comes first. There are currently 108 players remaining and the top 40 get paid out, so there's still a lot of poker to be played.
