Sweet miracles of miracles! Another great storyline and a name that's easy on the tongue to boot.

Online poker pro Michael "timex" McDonald (not pictured above, that's Michael McDonald from the Doobie Brothers, see one post down for details) became the youngest player ever to win a European Poker Tour event when he took down the EPT German Open in Dortmund over the weekend.

The 18-year-old Canadian entered the final table with the chip lead and, with only a few minor hiccups, rode that advantage to the win. The victory culminates what has been a very successful last couple of months for the online poker pro. During the Aussies Millions last month, he won the $1,000 PokerPro No Limit Holdem event, finished eighth in the heads-up championship and second in another prelim event. Add those winnings to this most recent €933,600 ($1.38 million) payday and he is up over $1.5 million for the year, and it's only Feb. 4..

This is how the whole final table broke down, with all the winnings and stuff:

1. Michael McDonald - $1,381,728
2. Andreas Gulunay - $782,180
3. Torsten Haase - $454,360
4. Diego Perez - $346,616
5. Claudio Rinaldi - $285,640
6. Johannes Strassmann - $224,960
7. Thibaut Durand - $177,896
8. Christian Harder - $126,540

There are plenty of European destinations left on the EPT for this season, including Copenhagen, Warsaw and San Remo, and all are available to winners of a $12,000 Bodog "Player's Choice" package.
