Matt McCullough Still Alive After Day 2 of US Poker Championship

Team Bodog poker player Matt McCullough is one of the players left in the field after Day 2 of the US Poker Championship.

There are now only 52 players left at the US Poker Championship after two days of play, and Team Bodog poker player Matt McCullough is one of them.

The third-place finisher at the WSOP Europe will go into Day 3 with about $50,000 in chips. Toward the end of the day, McCullough cemented his role as the "giant killer" by sending home defending USPC champ Alex Jacob. Note to all poker pros: Stay out of McCullough's way.

Other big names heading into Day 3 are Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy, Bill Gazes, Jeff Madsen, Victor Ramdin and current chip leader Gavin Smith, who has $350,000 in chips.

Unfortunately, McCullough's Team Bodog cohort Matt Larsh did not make it out of Day 2, falling victim to a brutal straight flush with just half a level left to play in the day. Other notable bust-outs include Cyndy Violette, Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Steve Dannenman. Play for

Day 3 begins at 1:15 p.m. EsT at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and will continue until 27 players remain. Although there is a rumor that they might play down to the money with 18 remaining, that decision will probably not be made until later in the day.

If you want the chance to be a "giant killer" or just rub elbows with some of the best talent the poker world has to offer, then head over to Bodog and win a "Player's Choice" package.  Qualifiers start for as little as $1 and can get you a $10,000 buy-in plus extras to any major land-based poker tournament.
