One Table Remaining at 2008 WSOP Main Event

Joe Bishop was eliminated in 11th place to seal the, sort of, final table at the 2008 WSOP. (Bodog Beat Image)"]

One would think that with one table remaining at the 2008 WSOP Main Event it would be the final table, but alas, one would be mistaken. With the elimination of Joe Bishop in 11th place ($591,869), there are now 10 players left in the Main Event and they will all be taken and put around one table until one more of them is gone.

The chip leader at the "final" table is Dennis Phillips with 21.5 million in chips with Scott Montgomery breathing down his neck at 20.4 million. The next spots are filled by Ivan Demidov at 17.5 million with Darus Suharto at 15.35 million and Dean Hamrick at 12.46 million in chips. Craig Marquis is in sixth place with 12.25 million, followed by Ylon Schwartz with 10.6 million. Peter Eastgate (10.4 million) and David "Chino" Rheem (10.1 million) are the next two in line in eighth and ninth place and the super short stack at the table is Kelly Kim (3.86 million).

How long this will take is anyones guess. The money jump nonwithstanding, the sponsorship money that will be negotiated over the next four months for the "November Nine" would make anyone unwilling to go out in tenth place, on the proverbial bubble. If you ask us, we'd fold anything less than pocket queens to a preflop raise just to get us some of that internet money.

Anyway, we'll keep you posted on all of the action of the final ten players here at the WSOP. Actually, we'll write another post when the "November Nine" have been decided, then go to sleep and go home. FINALLY!!!!!
