Payouts Announced For WPT LA Poker Classic

Could Jerry Yang add to the $8.25 million he got for winning the 2008 WSOP Main Event? (Bodog Beat Image)
The official numbers for the 2008 WPT LA Poker Classic have been released and the number of entrants has been increased since we last reported on that. The official line now sits at 664 players, who together have generated a $7 million prizepool.
The top 63 players in this tournament will get at least $21,990 all the way up through the top spot, which pays out just under an impressive $1.6 million. The blinds are currently $50/$100 and we are just about 30 minutes away from the second break of the day.
Here are a couple of things that we've seen out on the floor. Team Bodog poker pro Josh Arieh just got some company at his table that'll make life a little bit more difficult as Erick Lindgren and Gank Yungblut are now seated directly to his right in seats one and two. Team Bodog pro Evelyn Ng will have to "survive" the fact that Jean-Robert Bellande is now sitting to her right.
Poker pros David "The Dragon" Pham and JC Tran are making moves up the leaderboard in search of more WPT glory. Tran just eliminated a player at his table. Men "The Master" Nguyen is playing today and you gotta like his odds based on the three preliminary events he's already won here.
We'll keep you posted on more happenings from the Commerce, so stay tuned.
