While we suppose the concentration of big name pros at the final table of the WPT World Poker Open could have been better, there is definitely no shortage of recognizable names, and one of them holds the chip lead.
Poker pro Freddy Deeb is one of the biggest personalities in the poker world and hugely respected for his ability to work his way through super-talented fields that would dwarf other poker players. For example, at the 2007 WSOP, Deeb's bald aggression and patient play got him through what many consider the toughest poker tournament in the world, the $50k HORSE event.
The Lebanese native has done the same at this event, working his way through a hairy final 27 that included some of the best poker players in the world including Erick Lindgren, Dutch Boyd, Barry Greenstein and TJ Cloutier.
Even though these players busted out, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner will not have a hairless final table as he will be joined by Hoyt Corkins and Men "The Master" Nguyen, who seems to have spent the whole tournament drunk so far. The six will congregate at 5 p.m. EST today to fight it out for the $892,413 first-place prize.
Let the battle for Middle Earth begin.
Here are the seat assignments and chip counts for the televised final table:
Seat 1: Freddy Deeb — 1,345,000
Seat 2: Brett Faustman —1,282,000

Seat 4: Gabe Costner — 1,181,000
