Poker Pro Jose Severino Tearing Up WSOP Prelim Event

The $2,000 NL Holdem WSOP Event No. 48 original field of 2317 has been whittled down to a mere 170 poker players and Team Bodog’s Jose Severino is among the top 10 chip leaders with around 130,000.
We just got back from sweating Severino while trying to get a good picture from the bustling poker tournament floor and in that short time we saw him take down a $30K pot and then go on to eliminate a short stack who called his pre-flop raise with queens.
As you can see by the above picture Severino’s A-8 proved good when an ace fell on the flop.
It’s not all bad for the pocket queen holder as the bubble has already burst so he stands to at least he cashed.
Another Team Bodog WSOP bracelet contender in this event is Wade Woelfel. Woelfel won a Bodog WSOP online satellite to the Main Event. He currently has a well above average chip stack with 80,000.
The WSOP action is really starting to heat up now with the shrinking $2K event's field and the WSOP HORSE Championship underway and playing down to a the final table today.
Stay tuned to the Beat for plenty more WSOP news and general weirdness.
