Scott Seiver Wins First WSOP Bracelet

Scot Seiver took down his first WSOP bracelet in the $5,000 No Limit Holdem Event No. 21. (Bodog Beat Image)"]
We hadn’t heard much about Scott Seiver prior to last night with two small cashes at the 2008 WSOP so far with 22nd place in the $5,000 Mixed event for $16,243 and 13th in a Pot Limit Holdem event for $9,732. So his WSOP so far had him making enough to pay for his hotel room, some room service and maybe a hooker with a broken shoe, should that be what he’s into.
Last night changed everything for Seiver though when he beat a field of 731 players and took down the final table of Event 21 $5,000 No Limit Holdem and won his first bracelet and the $755,856 that went with it.
Seiver, as you can see below, went into the final table with a massive chip lead.
Seat 7: Scott Seiver - 2,512,000
Seat 3: Rajesh Vohra - 1,040,000
Seat 2: Jacobo Fernandez - 848,000
Seat 9: Dave Seidman - 653,000
Seat 5: Adam Geyer - 645,000
Seat 4: Ben Sprengers - 441,000
Seat 8: Chuck Sklar - 439,000
Seat 6: Scott Freeman - 423,000
Seat 1: Anders Henriksson - 311,000
It didn’t take long for him to add another 400,000 to his stack when in the second hand his pocket queens help up against Scott Freeman’s big slick.
Seiver maintained his chip lead all the way to heads-up play against Dave Seidman. The two went mano y mano for almost 40 hands before both players got all of their chips in after the flop with Seiver in the lead with top pair (eights) with a King kicker and Seidman trailing with middle pair (sevens) with an Ace kicker. The 5 and 3 on the turn and river changed nothing and Seiver won the bracelet.
