The EPT Barcelona is moving into Day 2 of the tournament with some pretty impressive numbers and some big names still up near the top of the leaderboard.

While Day 1A merely just scraped the maximum capacity set by tournament directors, drawing 292 out of 300, Day 1B blew through that barrier leaving officials scrambling to find seating for an extra 27 players over and above the maximum of 300. "Maximum" isn't really a good term because no one is going to turn away goo tournament buy-in money. So, seats were found and the 327 began play, putting the total number of entrants for the event at 619 and the prize pool at an impressive $5 million with a $1.9 million first-place prize.

Along with the big numbers and the big paydays come the big names and going into Day 2 they include online poker pro Sorel Mizzi, Julian Thew, Rafe Furst, Fabrice Soulier, Alan Smurfit, Isaac Haxton, 2008 WSOP final tablist and member of the November Nine Scott Montgomery and Robert Mizrachi. Leading the way is Sebastian Ruthenberg with 105,900 in chips, followed closely by Jonas Klausen, who may just be Scandinavian, and his chip stack of 101,800.

Play is already underway at Casino Barcelona and will wrap up when the field gets through seven blind levels or down to 32 players remaining. Stay tuned for more updates from the Bodog Beat and don't forget to check out the daily online satellites for a $12,000 Player's Choice package.
