When play in the 2007 WSOP Europe Main Event finished up at the Empire Casino last night, two Team Bodog players were sharing the spotlight with some of poker's brightest stars. All told, three Team Bodog members will move onto Day 3.

At first it was Matt McCullough who was sitting on the lit dance floor of the Shadow Lounge facing the unenviable task of taking on a couple of poker legends. Then Daniel Zink joined the party.

What they found when they sat down was three-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, 10-time winner Johnny Chan, and online poker star Jon "PearlJammer" Turner, who has won the Bodog Poker Sunday $100k Guaranteed online poker tournament several times. If that wasn't bad enough, they were sitting in seats seven, eight and nine, respectively, sort of like a corner of doom.

Of course, Zink and McCullough held their own, taking some pots off all three big name players. However, they also lost a couple making the girlfriends watching from the rail very nervous.

They were especially nervous when McCullough pushed all-in two hands after the break and was called. He turned over K-Q and flopped two-pair to double up, easing the tension a little. However, it turns out that McCullough and fellow Team Bodog member Matt Larsh had talked during the break about good hands to move in with, and it was decided that if either of them looked down at K-Q they would push. Extremely fortuitous if you ask us. Zink ended with 39,400 and McCullough with 47,800, giving them plenty of time to pick some good spots to increase their stacks once Day 3 begins.

Larsh will also be moving onto Day 3. He finishes up the day looking really good with about 76,000 in chips, which should give him plenty of space to make some moves.

Seat assignments have been made for the beginning of Day 3, which commences at 2 pm local time, and the two "Matt"s will be seated together at a table with another poker legend and another internet gun. They will join 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, who enters severely short-stacked with 10,500, and Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke. Zink will have poker pros Farzad Bonyadi and Vicky Coren at his table.
