They are down to the final table at the World Series of Poker Circuit event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and among the remaining players gunning for the $506,176 first prize are 2006 Festa Al Lago runner-up Steve Wong ($573,000 in chips), two-time WSOP bracelet winner David "The Dragon' Pham ($491,000), and Bluff Magazine's 2006 Player of the Year Chad Brown ($136,000).
At the top of the poker chip count is relative unknown Cory Carroll of Nova Scotia, who will sit down with $713,000 in chips when plays starts today at 2 pm. While he's stacked $140,000 greater than his closest competitor Wong, Carroll can't feel too confident knowing that the more experienced poker pros are still at the table and well within striking distance.
Others still hoping to take the top prize include Paul Kitsos ($327,000 in chips), Justin Pechie ($307,000), Eric Davis ($272,000), Vasile Buboi ($249,000) and Michelle Law ($192,000).
A total of 336 players began the $5,000 buy-in tournament on April 30, including many of the biggest names in poker who decided to stick around after the WPT World Championship, which was held just across the street at the Bellagio.
The World Series of Poker Circuit event at Caesars is the second to last stop on the 2006/2007 WSOP Circuit schedule and the last of the tour before the real deal gets underway this June at the Rio.
