WPT Legends of Poker Final Table Set, November Niner Leads

2009 WSOP Main Event final tablist - November Niner - Kevin Schaffel leads the final table of the WPT Legends of Poker. (Bodog Beat Image)"]
As we reported yesterday, there were two members of the 2009 WSOP Main Event November Nine, Kevin Schaffel and Steve Begleiter, in the top three in chips after Day 3 of the WPT Legends of Poker event. So, the odds were just a bit better than OK than one of them would make it through to the final table ans Schaffel did just that. However, not only did he make it through but he will sit down as the chip leader when play resumes at 6pm PT today.
Here are the full final table chip counts:
1. Kevin Schaffel - 2,234,000
2. Todd Terry - 2,219,000
3. Prahlad Friedman - 1,476,000
4. Mike Krescanko - 1,209,000
5. Sam Stein - 743,000
6. Toto Leonidas - 580,000
As you can see, two other notable players made the final table, Friedman and Leonidas. Friedman is making a splash on the poker tournament scene for the first time in a while as he seems to have dropped off the face of the globe for about three years. His fist major tournament cash since 2006 was a deep run in the 2009 WSOP Main Event, where he finished 64th for $90k, and now this. Not too bad for a comeback.
Leonidas already has a WSOP bracelet to his name as well as numerous WSOP final table appearances over the years. He has also racked up over $3 million in lifetime tournament earnings, so another million for winning here would be, well, gratuitous. But who are we to judge.
The chip leader going into yesterday, Terry, will start out the day second in chips and hope to continue his stay near the top of the leaderboard. Stay tuned for more updates from the WPT Legends of Poker and don't forget to qualify online for the WPT with Bodog Poker.
