For most people, a night that involves gambling and narcotics usually ends up as the kind of thing one might read about in a Hunter S. Thompson novel.

WSOP bracelet winner Paul "Cigar" McKinney was having a night just like this in the small, sleepy town of Kingsport, Tenn., which is apparently a hotbed of poker activity (according to the comments on the article in the local paper there are "dozens of poker games" happening on any given night....who knew?). However, before the night could reach epic proportions, the police raided the game, arresting McKinney and 15 other participants along with seizing $19,900 in cash.

The 2005 WSOP Senior Event winner was charged with aggravated gambling promotion and, after some pills were found in his pocket, possession of Schedule III narcotics. True to his WSOP bio sheet, which listed his hobbies as "moonshine, cigars and young women," one of the players was providing untaxed liquor to the attendees - moonshine.

Every picture we've seen of the guy has him with a cigar in his mouth, hence the nickname, but no word on if there were any young women on hand. McKinney is thought to have been the brains behind the operation and was also serving as a bookie, taking bets on the weekend's sporting events.

At 80, McKinney was the oldest winner of a World Series of Poker bracelet at the time. At 82, McKinney seems to have more going on on a Friday night than we do. Not sure what that says about us, or him, but Johnny Depp probably won't be playing us in any movies.
