Event #47 - $2,000 No Limit Hold'em - Blair Rodman won this event earning $707,898, a Corum watch, and a WSOP bracelet. Rodman has been around the poker tournament circuit forever, but this is his first bracelet.
Event #48 - $1,000 2-7 Triple Draw with Rebuys - Rafi Amit took down this event taking home $227,005, the Corum watch, and his second WSOP bracelet. He is the second Israeli to win this year; Eli Elezra was the first. Amit also has some notoriety as the only person to receive a heads-up 10 minute penalty. It happened at the 2005 WSOP when he was playing against Vinny Vinh at the final table of the $10k Pot Limit Omaha event. He did still win his first bracelet.
Event #49 - $1,500 No Limit Hold'em - The final table is set and will begin play today at 2pm. Many Brazilian eyes will be on Leandro "Brasa" Pimentel as he tries to secure the first WSOP bracelet ever for a Brazilian poker player. The final table begins at 2pm and will be held in the Sequestrium. This has drawn no small amount of criticism from some very irate Brazilians. You know how hot that Latin blood runs. There are about 30 of them here vociferously supporting their countryman, so it's been a little loud in the media room at times. I feel bad for whoever at Harrah's ends up talking to them because they want some heads to roll. However, as someone here pointed out, if they're gonna put Phil Hellmuth and his 11th bracelet in the "black hole" then this won't phase them.
Event #50 - $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha - 55 players remaining out of the 314 original entrants. They will play down to a final table tonight and then call it quits. Play is underway and we'll keep you posted.
Event #51 - $1,000 SHOE - 145 players are still left playing this mixed game out of 730 starting hopefuls. This event will also play down to a final table meaning that, you guessed it, there will be two final tables tomorrow. They pick back up at 3pm PDT.
