Antonio \"Bigfoot\" Silva Interview

Standing 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 300 pounds, Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva is making a big impact in the heavyweight division of MMA. Since his mixed martial arts debut in 2005, the fighter from American Top Team has put together a record of 9-1-0 with crushing knockout wins over fighters like Wesley "Cabbage" Correira and MMA veteran Tom "Big Cat" Erikson.
Despite a controversial loss to Eric Pele at "Bodog Fight: USA vs. Russia", many MMA fans pick the Brazilian giant as the man to knock Fedor Emelianenko out of the top spot in world heavyweight rankings. Watch him fight, and you'll see why. Despite his enormous stature, Silva moves with incredible speed and agility. There's something about watching a 300-pound man do a cartwheel that is downright scary.
In his last match, Silva took out Jonathan Wiezorek at "Elite XC: Renegade". From the opening bell, it was clear that Wiezorek wanted nothing to do with Silva's hand speed, as he raced in for repeated takedown attempts. Of course, it isn't easy to tackle a giant that moves like a cat, as Wiezorek quickly discovered when he found himself stuck under his enormous opponent. Minutes later, he was tapping out to a choke hold as "Bigfoot" notched his first win by submission.
Fresh off his latest victory, Bodog Nation caught up with "Bigfoot" at Strikeforce in San Jose, Calif. to talk about his fights, his feet and his future.
Bodog Nation: Talk about your fight in Elite XC.
Antonio Silva: I wasn't expecting to finish the fight by submission. Everybody expected that, because in every one of my last fights, I finished by KO or TKO. But I want to show my skills in submission. I did everything right. I trained with my camp that I love, and the fight was perfect.
