The last-place Baltimore Orioles open up the second half of the season on a two-game winning streak. Does not seem like much, but if you are a backer of the Orioles you will take it.
On Friday the Orioles look to win three straight as they open a series on the road against the Chicago White Sox.
The White Sox, who are averaging 4.6 runs per game this season, will get a chance to feast on scheduled starter Jason Berken.
Berken is 1-6 with a 5.87 ERA and has not won a game since the end of May. This will be the righthander’s first test against the White Sox.
Mark Buehrle will take the hill for the Sox.
Buehrle is 9-3 on the season but in his final start before the break he lasted just 3 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs and 10 hits in a loss to the Twins.
