Detroit was the only team that managed to finish over .500 in the AL Central standings in 2011 – they were 95-67 atop the division, while the Tribe ended up 80-82 in second place.
The White Sox won 79 games last season, the Royals won 71, and the Twins won just 63.
And that's how the order breaks down on the MLB futures at Bovada heading into the season as well, with Detroit set as the -400 favorite to win the AL Central division title.
The Indians are next at +1000, with the White Sox and Royals both pegged at +1200 to claim the AL Central crown, and the Twins lagging behind at +1600 on that futures list.
The Tigers signed Fielder to a nine-year, $214 million contract in the offseason to take over at first base for the team and he'll more than make up for the loss of Victor Martinez, who is out for the 2012 season after tearing the ACL in his left knee.
Fielder had a .299 average for the Brewers last season with 38 home runs and 120 RBI.
For any of the other four AL Central teams to challenge the big-spending Tigers in 2012 they're going to need a lot of breaks to go their way - and the Tribe have already taken a hit as outfielder Grady Sizemore is out for two months after undergoing back surgery.
Detroit is also the top AL Central team on the World Series odds list at Bovada, as they're fourth (behind the Phillies, Yankees, and Angels) at 8/1 to win the championship this year.
