Ben Roethlisberger Admits to Sexual Contact

As Ricky Ricardo would say, Ben Roethlisberger has "a lot of splaining to do." The Pittsburgh Steelers quaterback, who was celebrating his 28th birthday at Capital City nightclub in Milledgeville, Georgia, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old college student in the bathroom. It is now coming out that Roethlisberger admitted to police he had sexual contact with  the woman, but denies  they  had intercourse and claims  that she fell and hit her head after their tryst.

Ed Garland, Roethlisberger's lawyer, claims the charges against his client are bogus.

"We intend to finish this case in a way that neither his liberty nor his future is damaged," Garland told the press.

The unnamed accuser dropped out of school at Georgia College & State University almost immediately  after the incident.

Lee Parks and David Walbert, the Georgia attorneys representing  Roethlisberger's accuser,  begged the media to  give her privacy:

"We join the school in urging the media to respect the family's need for privacy during this extremely difficult period in their lives.

"Their daughter has done the right thing and reported this matter to the police. She has been, and will be, available to the authorities to assist them in the criminal investigation. While the matter is under investigation, we ask you to respect her privacy, keep her name out of the press and allow the family space and time to heal."
