Big Shot Bob? More Like Body Check Rob

Some of the more amusing feedback today after Robert Horry's flagrant foul on Steve Nash:

It turns out Amare Stoudemire was right -- the Spurs are dirty. The way Robert Horry body checked Steve Nash at the end of the last Spurs-Suns game was outrageous. It was one of the most obvious dirty plays I've seen in the NBA. They should change Horry's nickname from "Big Shot Bob" to "Cheap Shot Bob" for that hit.

The San Antonio Spurs have done their best to muck up and get physical with the free-flowing Phoenix Suns in their knock-down, drag-out series through four games. Unfortunately for San Antonio, sometimes their idea of tough hoops leads to stupid decisions like Robert Horry's late in Monday night's loss that evened up the series.

In his 14 years as a pro, Robert Horry has stamped his game in NBA lore as Big Shot Bob, a notoriety that has earned him six championship rings from three different teams. Last night, though, in Game 4 of the Suns-Spurs battle, Horry tainted his legacy with a flagrant, if not criminal, foul that will forever be remembered as the Big Cheap Shot.

The Spurs have done little to rebuke theories that they're one of the dirtiest teams in the NBA. From Bruce Bowen's "go ahead and take that jump shot, I'll just slide my foot under you as a landing pad" defense to Horry auditioning for the Buffalo Sabres, the San Antonio will have a tough time shaking this reputation for the rest of the playoffs.
