Bob Sapp will fight in Tacoma, Washington on Feb. 23 at "Strikeforce At The Dome" presented by Bodog Fight.
"The Beast" is back.
Former Pride Fighting Championships and K-1 superstar Bob "The Beast" Sapp (8-2-1) will fight on Feb. 23 at the Tacoma Dome for "Strikeforce at the Dome", presented by Bodog Fight.
Standing 6'5" tall and weighing 375-pounds, Sapp has used his immense size and strength to crush opponents in both mixed martial arts and kickboxing matches, and is most well-known for his epic battle with Antonio "Minotauro" Rodrigo Nogueira (30-4-1) in Aug. 2002. Although Sapp lost the match, he became a huge celebrity in Japan, and went on to win the "K-1 Japan Grand Prix" of kickboxing in June of 2005. Sapp has not fought in MMA since his win over Kim Jong Wang (9-19-0) in Korea in Nov. of that year.
Also on the "Strikeforce at the Dome" card is a match between two legends, as former UFC heavyweight champion Maurice Smith (10-10-0) fights 6-time world kickboxing champion Rick Roufus, who will make his MMA debut.
