Bodog Bracket Buster: U-Dub Doug Wins!

Doug C. was the grand prize winner of the Bodog Bracket Buster, the March Madness game where every round is different and every decision counts.

In an exclusive interview with the Beat, Doug shared some of his thoughts on winning.

Bodog Beat: What do you attribute your college basketball picking prowess?

Doug C.: Watching the games is a real help because it gives you an idea how each team plays. For example, I knew LSU would have problems with UCLA because they have no outside game, they handled the ball poorly, and they suck from the free throw line.

BB: How did you approach each round? What was your strategy?

DC: I approached it game by game. But if a team played good "D", shot free throws well, didn't turn the ball over, and was a dog, I liked the points.

BB: What did you think of the Bodog Bracket Buster game (picking against the spread) versus a traditional bracket, where you pick the whole thing at once.

DC: Obviously, I like the point spread method, since I won! But I really did like it better than the other method. It makes you get into the tourney more closely.

BB: Do you have a favorite college basketball team?

DC: Wasington is my favorite team. I bet against them when they played UConn. It was really hard to do and watch, but I thought we would have a lapse sometime in the game.

BB: Most importantly, what are you going to do with your winnings?

DC: Of course I'll do some gambling on Bodog. Probably poker and horses. I'm also flying to Seattle and going to opening day at Emerald Downs.
