No. 9 BYU managed to tie No. 8 Texas A&M at halftime by holding them to just 29 points. But in the second half it looked like the BYU defense went on a pilgrimage. They allowed the Aggies to score 38 points en route to a 67-62 loss.
BYU had four players in double digits, including a 15-point performance from forward Jonathan Tavernari, but they weren't able to contain Josh Carter and the Aggies offense.
Carter led all scorers with 26 points and five rebounds. Way up from his 11.9 average.
Oddsmakers knew this contest was going to be a close one. The Aggies were favored by only one point and were able to cover with a five-point win.
