Granted, not a lot of people are even aware that the Presbyterian Blue Hose will be making their Big South debut this year. Duke, on the other hand, is listed at 13-1 odds to win the national championship for the first time since 2001. Mike Krzyzewski has four returning starters on a team that was a strong contender in 2007-08 until fading down the stretch.
The North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke’s bitter ACC rivals, are the runaway favorites at 3-2. UNC has its entire starting rotation back this year, including Wooden Award winner Tyler Hansbrough, who is committed to getting that elusive championship and finishing his degree.
Other top contenders include UConn (10-1), UCLA (12-1), Louisville (15-1), Michigan State (15-1) and Pittsburgh (15-1). Let the games begin.
