College Basketball Odds: Iowa State vs. Texas

The Iowa State Cyclones were probably not too happy with the Big 12 when they saw a schedule that had their conference opener at Texas. The Longhorns shared the regular-season title last season with Kansas and will again contend behind the sharpshooting of A.J. Abrams and the overall strength of Damion James.

Although Iowa State is improving, a home defeat against South Dakota State on Dec. 23 is proof the Cyclones have little margin for error.

That being said, the Cyclones are not going to be as easy for Big 12 teams to defend this season.

Through an 11-4 start, the Cyclones made at least 10 three-point field goals in six games. Last year, they never managed that many treys.

The Longhorns will have to avoid looking past this game. Following what should be an easy Big 12 opener against Iowa State, the Longhorns must travel to Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
