College Basketball Odds: No. 11 North Carolina at No. 4 Kentucky

North Carolina looks to beat its second Top-10 opponent and Final Four favorite in a row on Saturday when the Heels visit Kentucky, which opened as the favorite on Bodog’s college basketball odds in a matchup of the two winningest teams in NCAA hoops history.
The Heels (7-1, 3-4 ATS) looked great in beating No. 9 Michigan State on Tuesday, but that was in Chapel Hill. Saturday’s game will be UNC’s first true road game. While the Wildcats (7-0, 2-3 ATS) haven’t played opponents anywhere near the caliber of Syracuse and MSU as North Carolina has, UK has still been challenged, beating Miami of Ohio and Stanford in down-to-the-wire games. Kentucky is averaging more than 83 points per game, shooting 51 percent and outrebounding opponents by more than 12 a game. But, again, consider the schedule.
The story behind the story is that of Kentucky freshman star John Wall. Despite being the nation’s top recruit and growing up in the Tar Heel State, UNC didn’t offer him a scholarship. Wall has been terrific so far, averaging 18.5 points and 7.8 assists per game (third in the nation), and he’ll be plenty motivated Saturday. Look for UNC lockdown defender Marcus Ginyard to draw the assignment on Wall most times.
Heels point guard Larry Drew is improving every game, putting up a career-high 18 points and six assists against Michigan State. He outplayed Spartans star Kalin Lucas, and if Drew has another game like that UNC should win.
When deciding your college basketball bet here, this will be the 10th season in a row these two powerhouses have met and Carolina is on a five-game winning streak in the series -- including two in Lexington -- by an average of 11.4 points. Expect this one to be a high-scoring track meet.
