College Basketball Odds: No. 14 New Mexico at San Diego State

Winners of their last three games, San Diego State is currently favored by 4 points in tonight's matchup against No. 14 New Mexico.
Certainly the most off-the-radar Top 25 game on Tuesday night is No. 14 New Mexico at San Diego State in a Mountain West matchup, but this game might be one of the better ones all week as the two surprising teams are a combined 25-4. The host Aztecs have opened as 3-point favorites on Bodog’s college basketball odds.
New Mexico (14-1, 10-3-1 ATS) suffered its only loss so far on the road (Oral Roberts) but has beaten three teams there were ranked at the time at home or at a neutral site. The Lobos have been ranked for four weeks in a row after not visiting the Top 25 for 10 years. Guard Darington Hobson leads New Mexico in scoring (16.8), rebounding (8.1) and assists (4.5) – no UNM players has led in all three categories for an entire season.
San Diego State (11-3, 6-5 ATS) is 7-0 at home – that includes a rout of Arizona. SDSU has won 12 straight home games -- it hasn’t even trailed this season -- and is 21-1 in its last 22 at Viejas Arena. The Aztecs’ best player might be freshman Kawhi Leonard, who is second on the team in scoring and first in rebounding – he has 70 rebounds in the past six games. Rebounding and defense are strengths of this team.
While the Lobos seem a lock NCAA Tournament team, the Aztecs need this win for their resume. And UNM is just 3-7 all-time in MWC road openers; it was 4-4 in all road conference games last season.
Last season, these two teams split two matchups, each winning on its home floor. When making your college basketball bet at Bodog on this one, know that SDSU has been good against Top 25 MWC teams the past few years, winning three of its past four and two of those three at home.
