College Basketball Odds: No. 20 Wisconsin at No. 11 Michigan State

Which style will win on Wednesday night in East Lansing: Michigan State’s fast-paced, high scoring offense or Wisconsin’s plodding, physical defense? The Spartans have opened as 5.5-point favorites on Bodog’s college basketball odds.
Wisconsin (12-2, 8-4 ATS) has always given Michigan State trouble, going 11-4 against the Spartans under coach Bo Ryan. But the Badgers, who lead the Big Ten in allowing just 56.4 points per game, are just 2-4 in that stretch in East Lansing. Point guard Trevon Hughes leads Wisconsin in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game, and is also averaging 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. UW, which is on a six-game winning streak, has already beaten three ranked opponents this season.
It should be a stellar point guard matchup between Hughes and Michigan State’s Kalin Lucas, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year. Lucas (16.1 ppg) leads five Spartans averaging double figures in points as MSU has the Big Ten’s top scoring offense at 82.4 points per game and best shooting team (50.7 percent from the field). The Spartans are 0-2 against teams that were ranked at the time they played this season.
The Spartans (11-3, 4-9 ATS) are averaging 18.7 turnovers in their three losses this season, while in their 11 wins that number is 13.5 per game. Wisconsin has turned the ball over 10.1 times per game, third in the nation. The Badgers are 11-0 when turning it over fewer times than its opponent this season – they turned it over just five times in upsetting Duke.
When making your college basketball bet on this one, know that the home team has won the past eight in the series. And Michigan State has won its past seven Big Ten home openers.
