College Basketball Odds: Syracuse vs. Villanova

Villanova's Corey Fisher will see his transformation from defensive liability to lockdown defender come full circle Saturday at the Wachovia Center against the Syracuse Orange.

The last time he played the Orange, Fisher was stuck on the bench in Villanova’s 82-63 first-round win in the Big East Tournament. This season Fisher has dedicated himself to getting in better shape and playing more consistent defense.

His defensive efforts against two of the Big East's top point guards were critical in recent wins as he helped to hold Cincinnati’s Deonta Vaughn to eight points and Pitt’s Levance Fields to 11 points.

The Wildcats (+5000 to win the NCAA tourney) need more of the same against Syracuse, which has five players scoring in double figures. The Orange are second in the conference in scoring and are 12-1 when scoring at least 80 points.
