Seniors always want to go out with a flourish. That’s exactly what Yvenson Bernard did on Friday night.
Oregon State’s talented running back put up 177 yards rushing and a touchdown as he powered the Beavers to a 21-14 victory over Maryland in the Emerald Bowl.
The victory at San Francisco’s Monster Park was the fourth bowl win in a row for Oregon State coach Mike Riley. The Beavers also got a strong running game from James Rodgers, who rushed for 115 yards and caught a TD pass. Rodgers also rescued Bernard’s one miscue, which was a fumble in the end zone.
The point spread favored the Beavers by 4.5.
