How do you bounce back from a massive collapse that cost you a chance at a BCS game?

A blowout upset of a conference opponent is one remedy. And that’s exactly what the Virginia Tech Hokies accomplished on Thursday night, defeating Georgia Tech, 27-3, at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.

Virginia Tech, the No. 11 team in the country, beat the point spread, which favored the Yellow Jackets by a touchdown. The betting total in the matchup of ACC foes fell under 41 points.

Sean Glennon threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns on 22-for-33 passing. The Hokies’ quarterback also ran in a score as his team rebounded from a last week’s stunning home loss to the Boston College Eagles.

After the Hokies and Yellow Jackets exchanged field goals in the first quarter, Glennon scored on a two-yard run then hit Justin Harper with a 40-yard TD pass before halftime. He connected with Josh Morgan on a 71-yard score in the third quarter that put Virginia Tech (7-2) up 24-3.

Georgia Tech falls to 5-4 with the loss.
