College Football Odds: Boston College Adds to Revelry in Beantown

The Patriots are 7-0 - and favored to win it all with Super Bowl odds of 5/6.

The Red Sox are in the World Series - and favored to win it all at -225 on the moneyline.

The Boston Celtics have Kevin Garnett - and NBA championship odds that are down to 4/1.

With all this winning and high expectations going on, where does a Beantown sports fan have to go to get a decent price on his favorite sports teams? The Bruins?

Ah, let's not get drastic here.

The answer is the NCAA gridiron, where the Boston College Eagles have flown to No. 2 in the Associated Press poll this week. The Eagles saw their college football odds dip to 10/1 to win the national title, but that's still a solid price. BC hasn't been ranked this high since 1942, when they were No. 1 in the country.

If the Eagles (7-0) run the table, they will almost certainly play in the BCS title game in New Orleans on Jan. 7. After a week off, Heisman Trophy candidate Matt Ryan and crew get back on the field as they travel to Virginia Tech to take on the No. 8 Hokies (6-1). The ACC matchup is BC's toughest test to date. The host Hokies are favored by a field goal for the Thursday matchup (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

A win and the Eagles prove they're for real, and those BCS odds will certainly drop some more.
