College Football Odds: Navy vs. Army

The annual Army-Navy game returns to Philadelphia this Saturday (noon Eastern, CBS) with the Midshipmen favored by 11 points (-105). That's actually one of the smaller spreads Navy has spotted the Black Knights in recent years. Can we still call it a rivalry game?
Navy (7-4 SU, 5-5 ATS) has won this matchup six times in a row at 5-1 ATS, rolling over the Knights (3-8 SU, 6-4 ATS) by an average score of 40-12. That streak began when Paul Johnson brought the flexbone offense to Annapolis, a system that Ken Niumatalolo continues to use in his first year as Navy's head coach.
Army used to run the option under Jim Young and Bob Sutton, then failed miserably switching to a more balanced attack in 2000. Second-year coach Stan Brock wisely brought it back this year – and at 6-2 ATS in their last eight, the Knights are making some progress.
